Fee Payments for 2026 are due January 1, 2026.

Per 3 CCR § 2951, apiary registration fees will be assessed for the 2026 calendar year. Fees are assessed in arrears, so your 2026 registration fee will be based on the maximum number of colonies you had registered in 2025. The fees must be paid by January 31st of each registration year. If fees are not paid by that date, a late penalty fee of 50% of the amount due will be added to the total amount due (3 CCR § 2952). If fees remain unpaid by February 28th of the registation year, the beekeeper may be excluded from the BeeCheck notification program.

The fees payable are set based on the maximum number of colonies registered in the prior calendar year:

Fee is based on the total number of colonies and not a per colony basis.

Certain counties may waive the registration fee for hobbyist beekeepers. If you are registering in a county that has opted for the hobbyist fee waiver and you had fewer than 10 colonies in the prior calendar year, your payment status will automatically show as Waived.

Fees should be paid online through this web site (3 CCR § 2954). After you log in to BeeWhere your home page will show your registration status for each calendar year. After registering for 2026, the Status column for 2026 in your home county will either show WAIVED (if you had fewer than 10 colonies in 2025 and your home county waives hobbyist beekeeper fees), or UNPAID - PAY NOW if fees are due.
